미국 내셔널지오그래픽 채널이 촬영한 다큐멘터리 'Shenkeng Hotel of the Great Project Tour'가 최근 호주, 뉴질랜드 및 동남아시아 국가에서 방영됐다. 버려진 선컹 채석장 내 절벽 위에 건설된 InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland('선컹 호텔'로도 불린다)는 내셔널지오그래픽으로부터 '세계 건축의 기적(global architectural miracle)'이라는 찬사를 받았다. 내셔널지오그래픽은 물론 디스커버리 채널도 이에 대한 후속 보도를 방영했다.
